Geographic location 

Austria is located in Central Europe and has nine federal component: Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Burgenland, Carinthia, Salzburg, Styria, Tyrol, Vienna and Vorarlberg. 



Austria has borders with Switzerland and Liechtenstein in the west, Italy and Slovenia in the south east Hungary and Slovakia, Germany and the Czech Republic in the north. 



Most of Austria is dominated by the Alps and Prealpi heights, glaciers or mountains which still bears traces of the glacial period. Lakes have clean water, the landscape is impressive, showing Austrians understand the care with which to protect nature. The highest mountain is Grossglockner, with 3798 meters north and east of the country consist mainly of hilly land. West and southern Austria is famous as a winter sports destination.

Graz ●

● Innsbruck
